3 Day First Aid at Work course

This First Aid at Work course meets HSE requirements and is ideal for businesses whose risk assessment has determined that they require a fully trained first aider.

The First Aid at Work course includes theory, practical skills and group tasks and discussion. The aim of the course is to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver first aid in any situation.

Once completed the qualification will be valid for 3 years.

The curriculum for the First Aid at Work course is shown below:

Day One

– What is first aid?
– Responsibilities of a first aider
– Primary survey
– Recovery position
– Resuscitation
– Choking
– Bleeding and minor injuries
– Shock

Day Two

– Secondary survey (Injuries)
– Spinal injuries
– Head injuries
– Eye injuries
– Chest Injuries
– Abdominal injuries
– Crush injuries
– Embedded objects
– Amputations
– Fractures
– Dislocations
– Soft tissue injuries
– Burns
– Bites and stings
– Extremes of temperature
– Electrical injuries
– Poisoning

Day Three

– Secondary survey (Illnesses)
– Asthma
– Diabetes
– Angina and Heart attack
– Stroke
– Seizures
– Anaphylaxis

7 – 12 people £950

The First Aid at Work course qualification can be renewed by attending a 2 day course if the current First Aid at Work qualification has not expired by more than 28 days on the date that the 2 day course commences. The original certificate must also be presented to the instructor at the start of the course.

The HSE strongly recommend that all first aiders carry out an annual refresher and this can be provided by First Aid Confidence.

We can deliver the course in-house or at an alternative suitable location and we will provide all the necessary equipment to allow everyone to practice their first aid skills.
